Leobo Lodge, located at the top of an escarpment, is a safari lodge that can sleep up to 18 people in beautiful chalets overlooking the Palala Valley. Rooms that can accommodate children are available and the lodge is fully staffed. Meals can be enjoyed inside, on the enormous deck complete with sunken seating fire-pit, or in the Boma, where everybody eats around a fire under the stars.
There are 9 chalets built into the side of the escarpment one of them being a 2 bedroom chalet. All the chalets are equipped with en-suite bathrooms with doors that open onto a private deck – providing views that stretch to the horizon.
The Lodge has a really comfortable rustic feel, it has two open fireplaces and plenty of space for relaxing inside, on two levels. The large dining table can seat fourteen people easily — there is also an outside dining table with a large parasol where you can have any meal with wonderful views over the bush.
A covered veranda with large sofas, coupled with the huge deck, provides a number of fantastic places where you can sunbathe or relax in the evening. The Lodge has an enormous deck manufactured from antique railway sleepers. With commanding views of the Palala Valley and a nearby water hole, you can relax with a drink while watching the sun go down or take in the amazing night skies from the lodge’s sunken fire-pit. The swimming pool has been carved into the side of a hill and sits perched high – with amazing views of Palala Valley.
If you feel like relaxing for the day it is an amazing spot. If you need to escape the sun, there is also a thatched cabana. The lodge’s chef will customise a menu to suit any dietary requirements. Meals can be served on the deck or, if you prefer, around the nightly fire in the Boma. It is also possible to eat at a number of special spots in the bush.
Besides the reserve’s status as one of the few locations in which it is possible to spot all of Africa’s iconic Big 5, the region also has more than 50 species of mammals. For the dedicated bird watchers, the region boasts in excess of 300 species of birds.
