Expert Tips

Expert Tips for Staying at Morokolo Safari Lodge

Book Early for Exclusive Use

With only four suites and a max capacity of 10 guests, Morokolo is often booked out by families or small groups. Reserve early to secure exclusive use and enjoy the lodge all to yourself.

Bring Your Own Food & Drinks

As a self-catering lodge, guests should stock up on groceries, drinks, and snacks before arrival. Rustenburg and Sun City offer convenient shopping options en route.

Morning & Evening Game Drives Are a Must

The Black Rhino Reserve is known for low vehicle density, increasing the chances of rare sightings—especially black rhino and elusive predators. Don’t miss out on both sunrise and sunset drives.

Pack for All Weather Conditions

The Pilanesberg area experiences variable temperatures. Bring light clothing for daytime, a warm jacket for game drives, hats, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes.

Charge Devices Beforehand

The suite uses solar and gas power for heating and cooling. While power is reliable, it’s best to charge your devices during the day to avoid interruptions.

Don’t Miss the Stargazing

With minimal light pollution, the night sky at Morokolo is incredible. Bring binoculars or a stargazing app, and enjoy the cosmic show from the boma or your private deck.

Add a Day Trip to Sun City

Located just 45 minutes away, Sun City offers entertainment, golf, and water parks—making it a fun detour for families or couples looking to combine bush and leisure.

Photography Ready? Always!

Wildlife in this private section of the park can appear unexpectedly—even near the lodge. Keep your camera or phone close, especially during early mornings and evenings.
